Role Description

The volunteer Copywriter will work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to create compelling and inclusive copy content that promotes the organization's mission, vision, and values. The role requires excellent writing skills, creativity, and a passion for promoting IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility).

Anticipated commitment is 2-5 hours per week.


  • Write articles and blogs that highlight Big Break’s IDEA initiatives, offerings, and partnerships.

  • Write articles, blogs, and op-eds based on IDEA-related studies, cross-industry initiatives, and emerging discussions.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to develop content for Big Break’s website, social media, and other communication channels.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team on an effective cross-platform messaging strategy.

  • Proofread and edit content for accuracy, brand consistency, and tone.

  • Stay up to date with the latest IDEA trends, news, and initiatives in the Location-Based Experience industry.

  • Assist with other writing tasks related to IDEA as needed.


  • Strong writing skills and experience creating compelling short-form and long-form content.

  • Passion for promoting inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in the Location-Based Experience industry.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy and consistency in messaging and branding. 

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and experience creating content for social media.

  • Experience writing web content a plus.

This is a professional volunteer position with an anticipated commitment of 2-5 hours per week. As an Copywriter, you will play an essential role in supporting Big Break Foundation's mission.
