Hi! My name is Jena Szalai and I am an excited and creative media student passionate about storytelling through design, branding, and communication. I am an Honors student at IU Indianapolis—where I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Media Arts and Science. My journey into communications, marketing, and design began with a love for art of all kinds from a young age. I’ve always been fascinated with how people tell stories with paintbrushes of all kinds—whether that be a pen, mouse, or keyboard! Design is my strong suit—with strong foundations in color, typography, and composition. I specialize in strategically implementing these foundations to create eye-catching and functional designs. Additionally, I am an avid writer who enjoys wielding the power of language to make an impact. I tie these skills together with my knowledge of digital marketing and project management to deliver exceptional visual, written, and interactive experiences. Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and Canva are my primary tools of choice, though I’m a quick learner and know how to strategically identify and implement new software to enhance my projects.
I aspire to be a creative professional who brings my unique skillset to the table and thinks outside the box to make an impact. I have a special interest in empowering creativity and bringing stories to life. I’m always striving to better hone my passions and skillset via forging connections, enhancing my knowledge, acquiring technical training, and exploring the creative world.
