Intersectionality is the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage.

About The Wheel of Privilege
Inner Ring | Power/Privilege
Identities that provide societal advantage or access to power. Are experienced at personal, interpersonal and institutional levels.
Middle ring | Erasure
These identities are often erased. People in this category may be viewed as able to “pass” within privileged spaces.
Outer ring | Marginalization
Identities that are often the most affected by systemic discrimination. Marginilized identities are relegated to the margins of society and deprived of power.
