
Mentor Code of Conduct
This code sets the expectation for best practice in mentoring and is intended as a guidance document to promote the development of excellence and ethical principles in mentoring. The primary purpose of this document is to guide mentors in understanding their roles within the mentoring relationship. A mentor helps create and provide a supportive, safe, and productive environment, by encouraging professional and personal growth through a process of reflection, questioning, signposting, challenge and feedback for the mentee.

Safety & Welfare

Prioritize the mentee’s welfare and well-being at all times.

Never exploit or take advantage of your position as a mentor.

Disclose conflicts of interest openly and immediately if they arise.
Boundaries

Set clear expectations and appropriate limits at the start of the relationship.

Work within your limits, taking on only what matches your personal capability and experience.
Confidentiality

Protect shared information and keep it strictly confidential unless the mentee gives explicit consent to share.

Maintain trust by respecting privacy in every interaction.

Store data securely, ensuring that all confidential notes or information remain private and secure.
Adherence to this code is monitored and any formal complaints will be handled by our independent third-party investigation partner.
