Belonging is a feeling, Inclusion is an act.


As an industry, we build belonging by actively and consistently working towards inclusion. Here are some ways you can help create spaces where everyone can belong:


Lead by example

By intentionally creating spaces where everyone is welcome and all voices are heard, others in your organization can follow your example and create their own spaces of belonging. 


Champion training and development

Seeking out IDEA educators and practitioners can provide new resources to team members and inspire a conscious allyship practice.


Address issues promptly

When slip-ups happen, addressing them promptly reinforces that you practice what you’re preaching. By leading with grace, kindness, and an openness to learn, these mistakes turn into opportunities for growth.


As an industry, we can build belonging by actively and consistently working towards inclusion.
