Role Description


The School Volunteer Training Specialist plays a key role in developing and managing on-demand, digital training programs designed to prepare industry professionals for volunteering in schools. The specialist will design and deliver inclusive and accessible training programs, focusing on skill development and role readiness to ensure that volunteers are prepared for their school-based roles.


Anticipated commitment is 4-5 hours per week.


Responsibilities


  • Develop a structured training program to onboard and prepare volunteers, ensuring they are ready to serve as mentors, tutors, facilitators, and other school-based roles.

  • Lead onboarding and orientation sessions for new volunteers, providing them with essential information about Big Break, the school system, and how to be effective in their roles.

  • Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and staff to understand the unique needs of each school and tailor training programs accordingly.

  • Regularly evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, feedback, and performance evaluations. Identify areas for improvement.

  • Continuously adapt training programs to address the evolving needs of schools and volunteers.


Qualifications


  • Experience in  volunteer training, educational programming, or a similar role, particularly in a school or nonprofit environment.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and experience designing engaging, effective training programs.

  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and digital training tools.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Passion for  promoting inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in the Location-Based Experience industry.


This is a professional volunteer position with an anticipated commitment of 4-5 hours per week. As a School Volunteer Training Specialist, you will play an essential role in supporting Big Break Foundation's mission.
